"Captain Steve, Thanks for the great experience on Monday July, 7. Tom, Justin and I had a blast despite the nasty weather. By the way, the redfish and trout were delicious! We will be in touch about another trip and the possibility of using the condo." Kevin North Augusta, SC
"Fished the last two days so I will give all that care a fishing report and believe me it is a "fishing report." Caught nothing all day Monday in the gail force winds.
Talked to Captain Fralin out of Ugly Ducklin Charters before fishing today. Man what a nice guy. He told us some spots that were protected and had fish. I know a few people have knocked him pretty bad, but I have never had a guide that didn't know me from Adam give us specific spots. Would highly reccomend Capt. Fralin We did not catch but two fish but one of those was a 19 inch flounder-caught both on arties-jerkbaits. With the wind and rain we felt fortunate to catch those two. The front has the fish in deeper water it seems-cruised several flats the last couple of days and did not spook but one or two fish and very little bait. One thing we did see was some of the biggest sharks I have ever seen inshore. They were coming out of the water in one creek chasing sting rays. Some were 6 feet long. Saw two in the Stono on a mud flat and the others in a creek behind Edisto off the North Stono."Primetime from Charlestonfishing.com

"Steve- I just wanted to say thank you for everything you did for me while I was visiting Edisto Island. It was our first trip there and it will now be an annual trip. As I am sure you are aware at this point I am a novice boater to say the least. Upon our arrival I learned that I could not keep my boat at the resort. Everyone at the Edisto Marina was extremely helpful in accommodating me and my family with our boating situation. As we were prepared to launch I had difficulty in getting the boat started, which as luck would have it you were there to assist me, and actually educate me on where to fish, and the locations. Although you were a charter captain I think it speaks volumes of your character that you would give up your honey holes to strangers that you had just met, and who were not booking a charter through you. Thanks to that information we had the fishing trip of a lifetime. We were exhausted from all the fish we caught and amazed of how many large runs we had that lines were broken after fifteen minute battles with the unknown. As you were aware my older boat broke down on that Sunday and I was left stranded in the water. However, a made one phone call to you and you came out and towed my boat on Sunday. I really appreciate it you helping me loading my boat upon returning to the dock and going out of your way to store my boat on your property free of charge, which enabled me to have my brother in law bring my John Boat down. I can't thank you enough. After the trip of a lifetime I then headed home and was about forty minutes away from the Island when my trailer on the boat broke down and was not drivable. I placed another call to you and again you were able to call several places and arrange not only a tow, but a place to have my boat repaired and stored until I am able to come back down and pick it up.
As you know I live in Virginia in the DC Metropolitan Area and it is hard to meet people such as yourself who are willing to take care of total strangers and extend the courteous you extended to me and my family. Sir, you are truly a Southern Gentlemen.
I look forward to my next trip to your neck of the woods and you can count on us booking a charter with you. If there is anything I can ever do for you I would gladly be willing to return the favor.
Sincerely, Chadwick S. Oxley

Captain Steve Fralin is a Master Captain licensed by the US Coast Guard and has been in business at Edisto for over 20 years.
Steve has lived at Edisto for 22 years, and knows the waters well.
He has also participated in many sea rescues. He thinks his Indian blood aids him in locating boats at sea. :)
